My What A Change!

Tracy has been working on our back family room for quite awhile now, and all that work has definitely paid off! We are almost done with the renovation.

We just have to get our own pictures in the frames on the fire place, move the TV in, and hang some curtains and some wall art! I looks so much better! We no longer call it the dungeon!

I am pretty proud of what he has done! Here are some before and after photos.

As far as how things are going with us, they are just fine! I am still working Wed-Friday at the doctors office, in the insurance department and Tracy is still putting in many hours at his job in Lawrence.

We have been busy with doing some updating on our back living room, getting it ready to become our main living/TV room, and it is looking fantastic! Tracy does such a great job. He has recovered the fire place, tore down the wood paneling walls and put up new sheet rocked walls, and we repainted and put new trim up. We are coming to an end with this project and already thinking about when we should start the next one. (finishing the basement)

Madeline is enjoying school a lot more these days. Wednesdays are still a little rough but by Thursday she is talking about her friends! It makes it a whole lot easier on me now that she is doing better!

She is already talking about how she will be having a birthday soon! In her words "I gonna be two"! she tells her teachers and friends at school everyday about how she is gong to have a party with balloons and a Toy Story cake! She can now also hold up the number two with her fingers. That was a challenge in the beginning!

She is starting to use her imagination a lot more as well. She got a princess castle tent from her aunt Tara for Christmas and she like to pretend that she is a princess. Complete with wearing the tutu that aunt Linda got her last Christmas and she likes to wear my apron as a dress.

I can not believe that another year has passed us! She is growing up so fast that I can hardly keep up! It makes us a little sad to be honest. But it sure is fun to watch her grow!

We are ready to go trick or treating! This year we get to go out with Lincoln and Guy and seeing as how Madeline is addicted to them, I am sure she will have a blast! We have also been having fun playing in the leaves! Sounds like the weather is going ot be getting cold soon so we have been trying to get out as much as possible. My New Best Friends!

Madeline has loved the movie, "Toy Story" for a while now and the other night while we were at our friends, Mary and Randy's, Madeline found one of their sons Woody and Buzz Light Year action figures and fell in love with them. Well, I just happened to have a gift card to Target so I bought her, her own! And we added a Jessie! She loves them and has not put them down since we got home! Here she is sitting her her chair watching the movie her friends are in!

I guess I know what her 2nd birthday party theme will be!

Today is one of my days off so I though why not get an early start to the packing for our trip back to Nebraska this weekend. Madeline's version of packing and mine differ a bit! We have been very busy today with packing, cleaning and doing laundry.

Tomorrow we will go to the eye doctor, to get my eyes checked and get some new glasses. I am having trouble seeing. Even with my glasses some signs are still hard to read. The joys of aging! By the time I am 40 I will have coke bottle glasses I'm afraid!

Officially a Toddler!

Madeline is growing up very fast and proving to us that she is no longer a baby! She enjoys climbing all over things and on top of things, can almost say her A,B,C's and the other day counted to 12! It may have been a fluke but none the less, she did it!!! We are very proud parents!

A few weeks ago Tracy and I found a toddler bed at a garage sale and bought it for 12 bucks! Grandma King painted it for us and daddy put it back together last night. I will just see how she does taking naps in it first and go from there. No rush but thought she should get familiar with it! Right now she has fun climbing in and out of it and she is pretty good at it too! No falls yet!

She also inherited a tricycle from Lincoln and Guy and loves it!

She is getting so big and she is so much fun! You just never know what she will say next! Her verbal skills are wonderful! We have one smart cookie!

We will be heading to Loup City next weekend and I am excited for my parents to see her and hear her talk! They will be so proud!

While we are there Tracy, Scott and Linda will be running in the Rebecca Adams Green half marathon/5k. I have decided not to run in it. I am still however running though with Tracy during the weekdays.

Where Have We Been?

Well I just noticed that it has been three months since I have posted anything and I am sorry! We have been really busy these last couple months. Let's see, where do I start.

I have recently gone back to my old job at Gastro Intestinal Associates and it has been quite the challenge! The job part is easy and I enjoy it but the part where I have to take Madeline to daycare I hate! Hate is a strong word but I am going to use it anyway. Madeline and I are extremely attached to one another so it has been incredibly hard for both of us. Lots of tears and worry.

It is slowly getting better now that I am working just Wednesday through Friday. That way I am still working and her and I are still getting mommy/daughter time. I know it is good for her and for me, but man I never thought it would be so hard to let her go!

As for Tracy, he is still really busy at his job. He is working on yet again another stressful project with tons of deadlines, but he will get it done like he always does! We are so proud of him for all the hard work he does!

He also won his first Ultimate Frisbee tournament this summer! He and Scott did great!!! They had a busy summer of frisbee and triathlons! And now he is getting ready for the Cow Pie 5K Run in Loup City in memory of Rebecca Adams Green. I am not sure if I am running in it yet or not. I had bronchitis a couple weeks ago so let's just say between the heat, being sick and now getting home at 5:30 and having to get the kiddo fed I have not been out running for a while! Excuses, excuses right?!!? : )

We had an awesome summer filled with fun and visits from the family, which we love!

Madeline almost knows all her A B C's and can count to three. She has become quite the little character! She is so much fun! Along with adjusting to daycare or what we call "school", she has also been picking up all kinds of germs and getting sick as well! I have a feeling it will be a sick filled winter!

Pool Time!

Now that daddy is needing to train for his triathlons again, we have started going to the pool!

Last year Mads was too small to really understand and enjoy it, so she just floated in a floating ring, but this year she enjoys going back and fourth to the baby pool and the "toddler" pool! The toddler pool is 18 inches deep and she likes to stand in there and play with pool toys! She also likes to just keep going back and fourth between the two! She is a busy girl!

We are going to be heading back to Loup City this Saturday for the fourth, and I can't wait! I want to take her to the pool there too! And the park that Tracy and I played in a kids! It should be really fun now that she is older.

This past weekend Madeline has been dealing with the joys of teething again! And it is not fun! She is getting her two year molars. At least after they come in she is all done with teething!!!!

Every time she teethes she gets a terrible stuffy/runny nose and has a really hard time breathing! And of course is in pain so she is not our usual happy girl. We hope that by Saturday, when it is time to hit the road, she is doing better so we don't have boogers to deal with!

Fun At The Petting Zoo And With Big Girl Toys!

This last weekend grandma and grandpa King took the grandkids to the petting zoo. They all had a blast! And might Iadd, they were all very well behaved! Madeline's favorite thing was feeding the baby goats! Their tongues tickled her hand which caused her to laugh so hard! It was a great weekend!

Today we went to a couple stores to see if we could find any deals. We came home with two new books, two pairs of pj's, pom poms and a new chair! And our grand total for all of that was 20 dollars! Thank you Once Upon A Child, and Gordmans! Madeline is becoming more interested in big girl toys now! Let the girly fun begin!!!

Madeline is becoming quite the character! She is really funny these days!

Along with the funny faces she will now say "owe", when she gets hurt and will sometimes rub her "boo boo", by herself instead of having me do it. She loves to mow the lawn with daddy and every time she sees the mower she has to announce that it is a "mow mow"! She also does Twinkle Twinkle Little Star with me and the Itsy Bitsy Spider. It is so cute!

When she hears the garage door open around the time Tracy is getting home she shouts "Daddy, Hoommee", in her high pitched little voice. I am pretty sure Tracy looks forward to that every day! The other day in the bath I asked her to hand me the foam letters A, B, and O (I couldn't find the C at the time) and she did! She is one smart cookie!

Her new favorite food is fish sticks and cantaloupe. But will pretty much eat anything. She also loves her cousins Lincoln and Guy! Her and Guy I believe, will be great buddies!! They even hug each other. I need to get a picture of that!

It is getting closer to the the 4th of July and I am ready to come home to Loup City! It is my favorite holiday and I love being home for it!

Finally, A New Post!

Sorry everybody I have been slacking on my posting duties.

Let's see... first of all I guess we go way back to Easter! We spent Easter in Loup City with my parents and of course went to grandma and grandpa Kings store as well! This was the first time Madeline got to explore the store on her own. The last time we were there she was not walking yet. It was a whole new world to her and she loved it!

We had a fantastic dinner at my parents house on Easter Day and had a fun time hunting Easter eggs with Halie and Ryan too!!!

During the past few weeks I have decided to let Madeline get familiar with the potty chair. She sits on it anytime I ask her to, so that is a start! No rush, I just want it to be a positive thing instead of a scary unknown. So they are becoming friends for now.

The weather has been getting rather nice out. In fact the other day we were able to bring out the little pool and take a dip! She loved it!

A couple days after that Madeline and I took a trip to K-Mart and ended up getting stuck there while we were told to go to the storage area because the tornado sirens were going off! We were held there for about 40 mins. It was pretty scary but I held it together. Until I got home anyway! Then the fear set in and I realized, that it could have been bad! Thankfully it was not! I hope the tornado scares are gone, but I have a feeling June could be bringing some more scares.

With that said please take tornado safety seriously. After seeing Joplin, MO I have never been more serious! Our shelter in the basement is ready and I hope yours is too!!!

A New Friend

A while back our neighbors Hod and Peggy went on a trip and returned with a small stuffed tiger for Madeline. I of course thought it was so sweet and cute but at that time I am not sure Madeline knew what to think of it.

A couple of days ago, she spotted the tiger in her room and made a kitty noise while pointing at it. I handed it to her and she has been in love with it ever since. She has a love for dogs and cats and this just made her day!

We would like to say thank you again for the "Kitty". You are too kind, and we are glad to have you as neighbors!

Miss Independent

Madeline has decided that her new favorite room to play in, is her room! How appropriate! I put a box of toys in there and her books and she will stay in there for quite a while!

I also rearranged her room and we decorated the walls with some big girl stickers and got a new rug! She loves it! It makes me happy to see her so happy!

She is too funny. One minute she will be in the living room and the next she disappears and we find her in her room playing so nice! She is really showing us how big she is!

I am 14 Months Old Today!

Today Madeline is 14 months old! It still feels like yesterday that she was born to me. Now I have a big girl not a baby!

Madeline has successfully taken herself off the bottle and had no problem doing so! I almost feel like "I" needed it to take longer because it was too easy! I miss it and it really proves that she is not a baby anymore.

Along with knowing where her nose and hair are she also in the last week learned where her mouth, cheeks, feet and belly are! So not only do we have a beautiful girl, we also have smart girl!

Some of Madelines favorite foods include Tuna Helper, macaroni and cheese, peaches, vanilla pudding, Honey Nut Cheerios, hot dogs, chicken nuggets/strips, and cheese!

She is a really good eater! She clears her plate and then later helps me clear mine!

The weather is getting nice out again so we hope to get out more and enjoy the sun!

Switching To The Sippy Cup

We decided this weekend to try and start the switch. She drinks so well from her sippy with water that we are hoping this won't take long. She also just figured that she can tip it by herself and she finds it rather funny so that helps! We hope to have her off the bottle by Easter.

What's Been going on?

Sorry I haven't posted for a while! We have been busy!

In the last month we have been able to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather and we love to go to the park and swing! Madeline has been showing us all kinds of new things! Like showing us where her nose, hair and feet are! She will also pat herself on the chest to show you she knows who Madeline is! When it comes to food, Madeline not only enjoys feeding herself but feeding daddy too!

The other day mommy let me pick a flower and I had fun walking around in the front yard with it!

A couple weekends ago Grandma and Grandpa King came to visit and help Tracy do some sheet rock and some electrical work in the back living room! It is no longer dark like a dungeon! Now we just have to mud it and sand it and then we can paint!!!

We can't wait to go back home for Easter and show GiGi and PaPa Kaslon Madeline's new skills!

In the mean time enjoy the weather!!!

CO Ski Trip

A couple weeks ago we went on a family trip to Copper Mt. Colorado. It was really nice to get out! Unfortunately we ended up with a sick 1 year old while there. We had to take Madeline to the Urgent Care clinic at the mountain and we were glad we did! She was diagnosed with an ear infection and RSV. After a day on the meds she was almost back to her old self!

While there, we enjoyed watching cousin Lincoln learn to ski with his dad and with Grandma! Three more years and we will give it a try with Mads!

All in all it was a great trip but we look forward to a healthier 2012 trip!

I'm Walking!!!

Two nights ago Madeline showed us her excellent balancing skills and last night she decided to show us that she could take some steps too!!! She gets more and more brave every time we practice! After she got done walking this morning she needed a drink! Walking is tough work you know!!!

I think within the next two weeks she will be able to show grandma's and grandpa's how big she really is!!!

We are getting pretty excited for our families to come see us and enjoy Madeline's FIRST BIRTHDAY!!!! Just saying that makes me want to cry! It is so amazing watching her grow and learn new things! She is so smart!!! And we are so proud!

After I got done clearing the sidewalk and Tracy's side of the driveway I decided to take Mads out too! This was her first "alert" moment with the snow.

She seemed unsure of what the white stuff was, but thought she should open her mouth and try to taste it just to make sure it was safe!

Just a couple nights ago Madeline has decided to show some interest finally in crawling. Not only crawling but is also doing an amazing job walking with her push toy. All a few weeks before her first birthday! She also enjoys playing the game, "How Big is Madeline"?!?! Mommy and Daddy are very proud of her!

I have sent out invitations for her party and have been trying to figure out if I should make her birthday cake or order one. It will be a great party either way! I can't believe it has been almost a year!

Happy Halloween!

Madeline celebrated her first Halloween with her cousins Lincoln and Guy. The boys came to our house to trick or treat since Madeline is not quite ready for that yet. Next year though we will all go together! Lincoln sported a Spider Man costume and Guy was a little stinker! They looked great! I made chocolate cupcakes for everyone and they were yummy! I thought it was funny how Guy licked half the frosting off then Scott had to finish it for him! Kids!

Madeline's nose started acting up on Halloween so she was not feeling her best. Poor babe! Hopefully next year it will be more fun for her!

Well it is that time of the year again that I end my posts with "Stay warm everyone"! I hate that, but at the same time I am so ready to decorate for Christmas! I think part of it is just being in a new house and wanting to see how it all looks decorated! I am excited to put lights up on the house too! Enjoy your weekend everyone! Oh yeah and GO BIG RED!!!

Growing Up

Well Madeline is 9 months old now and I am amazed at how much she has changed. She has become very interested in pointing at things and "talking". She loves the puppy and loves the mirror! She also "sings" when I sing to her! Her favorite song is Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. We are working on tooth number 7 right now and it has been causing some sleepless nights and a stuffed up nose. Not fun!

We are still working on crawling. I have decided not to push her or worry about her being behind other babies because she will crawl when she is ready. She does love to stand though. I got a used walker to keep her from getting so bored just sitting on the floor.

Her hair is long enough now that we can sport piggy tails! Hopefully the more I do her hair now, she will be used to it when she is older and it won't be a dramatic thing. We are also eating eggs now and she loves them. Another food we have tried is graham crackers and she loves those as well. A few weeks ago we moved her to a big girl car seat and she does really well in it! Such a big girl!

Play Date/Babysitting

Lincoln and Guy came over to play for awhile until their babysitter was able to come and get them tonight and we had a great time. And yes that is a plastic spill mat I have the boys sitting on! You know me, not one for a mess! : )

For some reason Guy wanted me to hold him or sit on my lap the whole time. And I must have seemed like a daycare teacher to Lincoln because he kept calling me Miss Joni! Madeline and I enjoyed the company!

Well I could never get the video of Madeline jumping in her jump-a-roo to upload so here are a few pictures of Madeline and her new friends...her teeth! Now when she falls forward while sitting on the floor she always bites her lip and we have a bloody mouth! It scared me the first time but she handled it fine.

Tracy, Scott and Mike and possibly their friend Randy have the Tour De BBQ to ride in this weekend so that should be fun. I believe it is 60 miles. I know they have been looking forward to it. I am keeping busy with the little miss and trying to get out and jog with baby now that it is nice and cool out. We are enjoying the husker season so far and hope we continue to do well! I believe this week is a Thursday night game at K-State! So let's hope they can pull out another win! Go Big Red!

Growing Girl

While we were in Nebraska a couple weeks ago Madeline's top two teeth decided to come in. So now she has four! She is also now saying mum mum! We are working on da da now.

Some things she enjoys doing now are reading books and she is into jumping while she is in her excersaucer. Oh and during bath time we splash with ours legs the whole time!

Yep, this little girl is growing and changing so fast! I can't believe she will be 8 months old soon.

A Visit From Grandma and Grandpa King and the Zoo

Last weekend over Labor Day Tracy's parents came to visit! We had lots of fun and did a lot! We spent a lot of time over at Scott and Linda's house with the boys too! On Saturday we all went to the zoo and it was beautiful out! There was grilling and even a craft fair and carnival in Independence, MO. All in all it was a blast!

This weekend my parents and and brother Neil came to visit us, and as a surprise they brought my 6 year old niece Halie!!! We had a great time! The boy's spent some time at the local swap meet and us girls hit up the mall! We did some school clothes shopping for Halie and got some pretty cool stuff!

I also took her into build-a-bear and she got to build her very own teddy bear. Complete with a dress and bows around the ears. We had to print out a birth certificate and everything. The bears name ended up being Kansas! Cute! While at the mall Halie also got to ride the carousal! We went to the pool, where she enjoyed watching Madeline splash as well. Busy, busy!

All in all it was a very nice time! In a couple weeks the King grandparents will come visit too!

Madeline is SOOO BIG!

This past week Madeline has started to show us that she is getting to be a big girl! She has been taking interest in her tippy cups...most of which consist of her taking a drink and having half of the water come back out on her shirt. But hey, it's fun! She also has finally realized that if she puts her feet down in her exersaucer she can stand and bounce a little! Who knew! She also has figured out how to shake her head "No" and thinks it is funny! Silly girl!

On a neat yet painful note, she is also getting her two bottom teeth! They are coming very slowly, so it is not fun! But just more proof that she is getting to be a big girl! My baby is growing up!

She likes to sit up whenever she can with some help. "Forget laying down, I can't see what is going on then mom"!

She has also been sleeping through the night almost every night so that is so nice for mommy!

Well only two more weeks until she is 6 months old, and then more shots! We hate shots! We will catch back up after we are feeling better from that! Bye!

Big girl pool!

We recently went swimming with Scott, Linda and the boys to the Mission pool this past weekend and it was so much fun! Madeline was not to sure of it at first but she ended up being ok with it as long as mommy did not let her go! She hung on to me pretty tight the whole time.

Tracy is going to be doing a triathlon in August so he went and did a few laps at the pool while we were there. I have decided that since I love swimming I am going to try to swim as well.

We will see how many times we can actually get to the pool since it is the end of Tracy's project at work and he has been getting home late. There is always the weekends!

The 4th of July and a Baptism

We went back to Nebraska for the 4th and had a great time! There was so much going on all the time! Madeline got to see fireworks with grandma King and then spent some relaxing time with grandpa King. We went for walks and even went to a party at my Aunt Karen's cabin! Madeline got some GiGi Marcia time too! PaPa Kenny grilled for us!

Madeline got to see the lake fireworks too! We were not sure how she would do but she did great!

On the 4th, Madeline had her baptism. It was done at the Methodist church in Loup city at 11am. Her sponsors were Uncle Scott and Aunt Tara. We are glad we had that done!

Daddy Makes My Hair Curl!

After baths Madeline's hair is super curly! We are hoping it stays that way as she grows. As her hair dries the curls start to fade to a wave though. This was taken last night after bath and she was super happy to see daddy! He just got home from playing ultimate frisbee. And his team won!

With all this hot and sticky weather we decided that we would see if Madeline wanted to take a dip in the pool. I don't think she quite knew what to think of it! No tears or fussing so I think it was a success!

While we were getting her suit on she decided to roll over with mommy helping her and once she was on her tummy, she had the best tummy time session ever! That explains why she is naked! : )

Before we know it she will be an expert at tummy time and she will be rolling all over the place. We also tried applesauce in her cereal this afternoon and she loved it! Every week she shows us something new!

While Madeline and I were in Loup City, Tracy, Grandpa Mike, Scott, Aaron, Randy and Kyle were all busy doing the Bike Ride Across Nebraska! While they had a blast, the weather was not on their side. They were dealing with thunderstorms the whole time. Of course there was some sun burnt bodies and HEAT!

Madeline, Grandma Shirley, GiGi Marcia and I were there to see them at the finish along with Linda and the boys and Mary and Everett. It was HOT!

Overall the guys had a great time and I am sure they will want to do it again next year. Great job guys!!!

Trip to Loup City

We went to LC to drop Tracy off to do BRAN with his dad, brother, cousin and a couple of friends. While we were there Madeline and I hung out with both Grandma's and PaPa Kenny and Neil. We had a great time while we were there! We can't wait to go back for the 4th of July!!!

Four Months Old!

I turned four months old on the first of this month and I weighted in at 13 lbs 1 oz. I am also 24.5 inches long and I am in the 50th percentile for height, weight and head size! The doctor said I am doing great!!!

Madeline has really been focusing on her sense of style these days. She begged me to get these really cute shoes the other day! And the day before that she just had to have some hair bows, new outfits and a skirt!

I told her ok, but only because she will be celebrating turning 4 months soon. Man what will she want when she turns one or for that matter, when she turns 16!!! YIKES!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Wow! I didn't realize how long it had been since our last post! So sorry to keep you all waiting. These past few weeks have been filled with lot's of firsts and it seems like they just keep coming!

Madeline is now sitting up with help from mom and dad or her Bumbo seat from Aunt Linda and Uncle Scott! She loves it! She rather be sitting up instead of being held in the cradle position. She also likes to be facing out when mommy has her in the baby sling. She wants to see what is going on too!

Madeline has also been trying really hard to hang on to her toys! Her baby doll and rings are her favorites! When you put her under her play gym she wiggles around so much that she ends up facing a different direction! Tummy time is still not her favorite thing to do but she is getting better at it.

I have also given cereal a try with her! Right now it goes in and pretty much comes right back out, but I am sure she will catch on quickly!

Of course now that it is warm out we try to go on a walk as much as we can. Evening walks are the best because then daddy can come with us and it is a little more comfortable out.

We are getting ready to move her to her own bed pretty soon so that will be our next challenge! Hopefully it goes better than I am expecting!

Daddy will be riding in BRAN this year (bike ride across Nebraska) with Grandpa King, Uncle Scott and our friend Randy. So while he is doing that we will be spending time with Grandma King and GiGi and Papa Kaslon!!! We are excited for that!!

Spring Time!!!

We are so happy to be able to get outside! We have had 75 to 80 degree weather for the past couple weeks and we are loving it! Madeline is doing well! She is 10lbs and about 4 oz. and is changing everyday! She has discovered the "friends" on her bouncy seat and loves the butterfly on it! Lot's of coo's and big smiles! Crazy to think that in a couple months she will be eating cereal! Time really does fly!

We are so excited to see what this summer will bring for us. Daddy will be busy with work of course but then he has ultimate frisbee, running, biking and walking with baby and mommy! I can't wait for her to be able to sit up and enjoy some of her other toys!

I am doing pretty good! I am still learning a lot with Madeline but I think I am doing pretty good with her! Now if I could just get myself going with working out! I am registered to do the Trolly Run this year and I am a little worried about it! I have to start somewhere though!

My First Trip to Loup City and a Farewell to Grandpa Bob

Well it has been a while since we have posted things last so let's see where do we start.

I guess the first thing would be to let you all know that Madeline's hip is ok!!! All the worrying for nothing! She is also weighing in at about 10 lbs. these days. Growing like a weed. About a week ago she started cooing and smiling a lot! We are really enjoying watching her do all these new things.

On a sad note we lost a grandfather and great grandfather this past week so we made a trip back to Loup City/Grand Island to say our good byes! It was a sad reason to go back home but at least we got to see all of our family and friends! Madeline did really well in the car during the 6 hour drive! We are lucky to have such a good baby!

While we were in Loup City Madeline got to see all of her grandparents and of course she loved the attention. Here are a few pictures from the trip. More to come later! Take care everyone!

A quick update...

Madeline had her 1 month check up yesterday and she is now 8lbs. 3oz. 20.5 inches long and is in the 40th percentile for height and weight. On a frustrating note while at the doc. we confirmed with the doc. what we already knew, she is starting to get a flat spot on the left side of her head. So we must work on that!

Also I guess her left hip is a little more loose than the doc. said it should be at her age, so on March 18th we will be going in for an ultra sound to make sure her hip is in the socket. Please pray that she is ok!!! We will keep you posted!

I am a growing little girl!!!! I went to the doctor at the beginning of the week and I am now 7lbs 8oz. I am doing good! I do however have a slight case of reflux, so the doctor put me on Zantac twice a day to see if that helps the burning in my throat and chest. I hope it works!

Mommy and I get a lot of quality time together during the days and at night we love when daddy comes home form work! Mommy doesn't get to be with him because I keep him for myself!

Mommy and I really hope the weather starts to get warm soon because we want to get out of the house and not have to worry about being cold or getting sick. I can't wait to go for a walk in my stroller!

Hello everyone! Well I am now nine days old and getting used to my new life here on the "outside"! Mommy and Daddy just can't get enough of me! I had my first bath a couple days ago and all and all it went pretty well! I cried a little but not as much as mommy and daddy thought I would. I really liked having my hair washed. It was nice and warm!

We had our first family photo too! I just love all the attention I am getting right now! It has been nice having all the grandparents here to help out. Oh, and thank you Aunt Linda for feeding mom and dad! What would they do without you! Speaking of eating... it's time! Bye-bye!

Daddy's note: This post is a couple of days late, but we still wanted to get it uploaded. Joni, Madeline, and I made it home Thursday afternoon and are settling into things. We really appreciate all of the phone calls, visitors, cards, and e-mails the last few days. We look forward to all of you getting to meet Madeline.

Natural or Induction???

I went to my last office visit this Friday the 29th and was told that if little miss Madeline does not come by Thursday the 4th, I will be induced the 5th at 7 am. Maybe with a little pressure like that she will decide to come on her own, but who knows??? We are ready for her to make her appearance.

On a different note, we did get all moved in and are getting used to the new house quite well! Beatrice is still trying to figure out which door she is supposed to go to, but otherwise she is doing ok. We will see how she does with the new house and a new baby before to long!

Well off to run some more errands and try and get some stuff done before Madeline does get here. We will keep you posted!!

Two Weeks Left!!!!

Well we are almost done with this pregnancy adventure and I can say it hasn't been bad. I have been extremely lucky for such a smooth 9 months. I am feeling pretty good. The only issues I am having lately is heartburn, my feet get sore and tired pretty easily and so does my lower back, but once again if those are my only problems then I am doing just fine!

I now go to the doctor once a week. Every time I go, I learn that I progress a little more each week. I am having quite a few Braxton Hicks contractions but nothing "real" yet. My doctor has also said she is head down, face down and ready to go! It is all pretty surreal!! Tracy and I are really anxious to meet our little girl!

We are moving into our new house this weekend with the help of Tracy's parents and I am ready to get that done. My parents came down this past weekend and helped us get new furniture and also helped Tracy finish the kitchen renovation. Mom and I had fun decorating Madeline's walls and getting some stuff put away.

Merry Christmas! Week 34

Hello everyone! Sorry it has been a while since we have posted anything! We have been really busy with work, birth classes, and our NEW HOUSE!!! Yes, we did buy a new house and have been pretty busy doing some updates on it before we get ready to move in. Tracy, his parents and brother have been working very hard. Shirley even cleaned the carpets!! : ) Thanks you guy's! We are so lucky to have a family that helps out so much!!

We have also been trying to get our current house cleared out a bit and ready to sell. Lot's to do still and the weeks are flying by! Baby King will be here before we know it too!

I am still doing just fine. We still have a very active baby. : ) Sometimes I wonder if she even sleeps! Pretty soon I will be having to go to the doctor once a week. It is crazy how my belly can change in just a few days! We are getting pretty excited to meet her!

Almost 28 Weeks

Just a quick update. I had a doctors appointment on Friday and everything is looking good! Baby girl King is weighing in at 2.5 lbs and is in the 55th percentile for height and weight right now. I am also doing just fine. I can tell that she is moving up a bit because the kicks are getting closer to my rib cage. We are looking forward to coming home for Thanksgiving and for the baby shower! It will be here before we know it!

Tracy is still busy working and then keeping in shape on the side. My work is the same. I did however start training someone for my position for when I leave in January. She will do great. It is nice to be able to train her for a couple of months instead of a couple of weeks. I have a lot to teach her!

Happy Halloween!

Well another Halloween is upon us and that means another year has gone by. Where does the time go? The last few weeks have been busy with Tracy running in the KC marathon, work of course, and now we are getting ready to go to Arkansas for a frisbee tourney.

Not much new on the baby front. I am slowing growing and she is still moving! Her new thing is to get into a position that is apparently really comfortable for her but not so much for mom!! I can't complain because otherwise my pregnancy has been going really well. I am however starting to get some heartburn, but that was expected. My next doctors appointment is Nov. 6th so we will see how things are going then.

Six Months and a Wedding...

This weekend we made a trip to Columbus, NE for my best friends wedding. It was a lot of fun but also a lot of driving! We enjoyed the outing, and did I mention the snow? Yes that's right, I said snow! The drive home was nice and slow.

On a pregnancy update, I am doing great! I will be 6 months along in 3 day's and I can't believe how fast time is going! Now I am starting to get nervous. We have started to talk about our birth plan and pretty soon our classes will start. Before you know it she will be here!!! We can't wait to see her little face! Lot's of questions are arising. Who will she look like? Will she be short or tall? Hair or no hair? So many questions! I am so excited! My belly is now just starting to really grow and she is still moving all the time! It is a wonderful feeling. Pretty soon she will probably be visible enough to do some video taping of her running or dancing action. I think she is dancing! Although sometimes it feels like she is practicing her martial arts! Well until next time take care and stay warm!!!

First Race (not first place)

My interest in competitive bike racing has really been building lately, so this morning Joni and I got up early and made the short trip to Lawrence so I could ride in my first USA Cycling sanctioned time trial (2009 Octoginta 10km Time Trial).

Since I've been spending majority of my recreation time training for the KC Marathon, and not riding my bike, I went into this with fairly low expectations. I just wanted to give it a shot to see where I stand. It also gives me a good idea of what I need to do to get ready for next season.

It was windy and cold, but overall the ride went ok (I'm no Lace Armstrong). I expected my pace to be a bit faster, but the last 5 km into the wind was really tough. I'll give it another shot next season and hopefully improve.

Tour of Missouri - Stage 7 (I wish this was every weekend)

The Tour of Missouri wrapped up with a 70 mile circuit race through Downtown KC last Sunday. It was a good end to an awesome weekend. Hopefully they keep this race going for years to come.

5 months! Half way there!

Well today marks the fifth month! Where does the time go? Not much new to report. Grandma and Grandpa King came down last weekend for the Tour of Missouri. Shirley and I did some shopping and came home with a truck load of stuff! Now the Baby has a new changing table/dresser and rocking chair. We even put the crib together! The Baby and I really enjoy the rocking chair!

We signed up for a birthing class that starts at the end of November. As fast as the first five months went by, we expect the last four months to go by even faster. Especially with Tracy running the KC Marathon with his brother in October, Harvest Moon (Ultimate Frisbee Tournament in AR), the holidays, and our busy work schedules.

Right now we're just trying to get as much rest as possible.

Well we found out today after two attempts that we are going to be bringing home a baby girl!!! We are so tickled and shocked! We were sure that the Kings only had boys! We were wrong! Our baby girl is right on track with all her measurements and everything else if looking good as well!!! Mom is doing great and baby is growing fast! Today while I was at work, on hold with an insurance company as usual, I had a funny feeling...IT WAS THE BABY!!! I wasn't quite sure what it was at first but then realized that I had never felt anything like that before. It was the best feeling ever. The perfect description to me is that it felt like there was a butterfly in my stomach beating it's little wings! Tracy said that "he" (hoping it's a boy) is just working out his legs to get ready to ride a bike. Tracy and his biking! : )

On the note of a boy or girl, we find out what we are having on Sept. 4th. Once we know, we will let you all know! We can't wait! Well, back to cleaning the house and mowing the lawn to get ready for Grandma and Grandpa King to come visit. Talk to you soon!

Well it's official! We now have a blog! Here you can find updated pictures of my growing belly, baby projects and find out what the heck is going on with us these days. We will try to post as many pictures as we can once things get a little further along.

Tracy and I are expecting our first baby this coming Feburary. The third to be exact. I am 15 weeks along and doing great! No sickness, just a desire for food all the time. We can't wait to start this new chapter in our lives! Hope you are all well and we will keep you posted! Enjoy the blog!
